Further Step for PCMA Rus, with the Start of Production of SUVs
Paris / Tokyo, September 17th, 2010 - PSA Peugeot Citroën (PSA) and Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) announce the start of production of the Citroën C-Crosser, Peugeot 4007 and Mitsubishi Outlander SUV models at PCMA Rus, their joint plant located at Kaluga, 180 km southwest of Moscow, Russia.
After the launch of C-segment vehicles (with Peugeot 308 in April and Citroen C4 in July) the Kaluga-based factory of PSA and MMC is now starting to ramp up its production of SUVs for the three brands.

Inaugurated in April by Mr. Anatoly Artamonov, Governor of the Region of Kaluga, Phillippe Varin, Chairman of the Managing Board of PSA, and Takashi Nishioka, Chairman of MMC, the factory has already assembled 11,000 vehicles.

As a result of a €470 Million investment, this factory has been able to implement production and quality processes equivalent to those in operations in any of the PSA and MMC factories, and the plant will be fully operational in 2012.

With 400 staff currently, the Kaluga factory has become a key contributor to the local economy and is another demonstration of the successful policy led by the Governor of Kaluga Region to develop an industrial cluster southwest of Moscow.

With local production of the Citroën C-Crosser, Peugeot 4007 and Mitsubishi Outlander both PSA and MMC will be able to respond quickly to the needs of Russian customers, thereby increasing their market presence.
