Mitsubishi confirms its All-New Crossover Utility Vehicle will be named RVR when it arrives in Canada this fall
Expands line-up with dramatically designed, eco-friendly, and smart sized entry

MISSISSAUGA, Ont. (July 7, 2010) – Mitsubishi Motor Sales of Canada has confirmed today that the company will expand its line-up with the Mitsubishi RVR – an all-new, compact Crossover Utility Vehicle (CUV) that features the latest in cutting-edge design, state-of-the-art technology and environmental responsibility.

Mitsubishi designed the RVR from the bottom up with a striking design and rigid, lightweight body. The smart-sized, cross-over combines excellent fuel-efficiency with premium features and greater functionality.

“The RVR opens up an all-new segment for Mitsubishi Motor Sales of Canada (MMSCAN) and answers the specific needs that many of our customers have underscored,” said Kogi Soga. “At the same time, the Mitsubishi RVR is a unique combination of world-class design and performance while achieving environmental standards second to none.”

With class-leading aerodynamics and an available All-Wheel Control (AWC) system, the new vehicle brings premium value to the entry-level crossover utility (CUV) market.

Just over a foot shorter than the Mitsubishi Outlander model – the Mitsubishi RVR shares its sibling’s capable stance and feature-rich package, all while adding increased fuel efficiency.

The Mitsubishi RVR relies on a highly efficient four-cylinder engine with either a 5-speed manual transmission or with a sportronic 6-speed CVT with magnesium-alloy paddle shifters. Coupled with a compact, lightweight body, the Mitsubishi RVR was designed from the beginning to deliver “smart” performance. An energy-recycling regenerative braking system, eco-friendly technology such as parasitic drag-reducing electric steering (EPS) and wind tunnel-tested aerodynamics give the Mitsubishi RVR excellent fuel economy ratings.

Showcasing a premium, value-minded list of features, the RVR is packed with cutting edge entertainment, driver’s aid technologies and advanced safety features. Features such as Active Stability Control (ASC), Hill Start Assist (HSA), and Anti-lock Brakes (ABS) are just a few of RVRs premium features.

Already on sale in both Japan and Europe -- the Mitsubishi RVR will make its Canadian debut in Mitsubishi dealership showrooms across Canada by mid October 2010.
