2010 Dakar Report: Tonnie Van Deijne, the next step

The association between Tonnie Van Deijne and Wouter Roosegar has already been successful: Engaged together on the three latest editions, they completed each of them, reaching Buenos Aires in 27th position in spite of a mechanic problem which costed hours four days before the finish. This year the crew is even a bit more ambitious and gets ready for a good result. With Luc Alphand 2007 Pajero (2nd), Tonnie Van Deijne might even be the first Dutchman to finish the Dakar in the Top 10 from 1998.

At least, the first results of their 2009 season give wings to the leaders of the AutoTrack.nl team. “We came 3rd on the Italian Baja, 5th on the Spanish one and won the Hungarian, Tonnie proudly says. Of course we may not be as good as Luc Alphand but we aim at finishing between 5th and 10th. From now to the boarding, we will race the Portuguese Baja and make a global check up of the car in Le Creusot where we will test the last details.”
