New Electric Powertrain collaboration between Peugeot and Mitsubishi



New Cooperative Project for Electric Powertrains Between PSA Peugeot Citroën and Mitsubishi Motors Corporation

Paris / Tokyo, June 30, 2010 - Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) and PSA Peugeot Citroën (PSA) announced today that they have started a feasibility study for the development and supply of powertrains for electric vehicles, including an analysis on the packaging of batteries and its business viability. The first application of this new agreement will focus on light commercial vehicles.

This new step results from continuing discussions between the companies to expand their existing current collaboration on electric vehicles. MMC and PSA Peugeot Citroën have already signed a Cooperative Agreement regarding the development and supply of electric vehicles for Europe. Based on this agreement, MMC plans to start production of a jointly-developed European models based on its i-MiEV* new-generation electric vehicle for PSA Peugeot Citroën this October. The sales of these European models, the Peugeot iOn and Citroën C-ZERO, will commence at the end of this year.

Hattersheim, 06/25/2010 - The Hessian police relies on robust and fine technology from Mitsubishi: Mitsubishi Pajero Seven have now been passed to Günter Thiel from the police headquarters for engineering, logistics and administration in Wiesbaden. With the new Pajero, the typical range of uses for the Mounted Police, strip-road driving (eg, public construction sites) but are also covered in the waterway.

- Lithium-ion battery and 100% electric vehicle production to begin in 2012 -

Nissan today broke ground on the project that brings Nissan LEAF production to the United States. The groundbreaking ceremony marks the start of construction on a manufacturing facility in Smyrna, Tenn., that will produce the lithium-ion batteries that power the Nissan LEAF zero-emission vehicle. The all-electric Nissan LEAF will be produced at Nissan’s vehicle assembly facility in Smyrna beginning in 2012.

Nissan LEAF and battery production will create up to 1,300 jobs when the plants are operating at full capacity. The battery plant, one of the largest vehicle battery manufacturing plants in North America at 1.3 million square feet at full capacity, will be capable of producing 200,000 advanced-technology batteries annually. It will be located adjacent to the vehicle assembly plant, which will be retooled to accommodate production of Nissan LEAF and will be capable of producing 150,000 electric cars annually.

Mitsubishi signs MoU to promote the i-MiEV in Denmark

Mitsubishi Motors Signs Memorandum of Understanding Regarding the Popularization of Electric Vehicles with the Government of Denmark

Tokyo, June 24, 2010 – Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Danish government regarding the popularization of its i-MiEV new-generation electric vehicle (EV) in Denmark at the Embassy of Denmark in Tokyo.

Under the MoU, the Danish government will consider introducing i-MiEVs into its fleet in or after 2011, conducting EV promotional activities and implementing EV infrastructure. The Danish government, in order to reduce CO2 emissions in its country, is proactively implementing environmental conservation initiatives as national policy - a part of which are EV-related tax incentives - and approached MMC for cooperation in the popularization of EVs in Denmark.

Special Inspection Recall Campaign for Mitsubishi Strada and Montero Sport (Philippines)
Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) recently announced to the Department of Trade and Industry that it will have a special inspection recall of Mitsubishi Strada pick up models which were sold from September 2006 to June 2009 and for Mitsubishi Montero Sport 3.2 GLS and GLS SE 4x4 A/T models sold from September 2008 to February 2009.

The special inspection recall is to check the proper tightening torque of the mounting bolts of the upper suspension arm. The reason for the insufficient initial tightening torque could be caused by possible mis-aligned holes of the two metal sheets of the front upper arm. The inspection procedure is estimated to take 2 hours at the most.

MMPC signs lease for future Mitsubishi Dealership with Subic Bay Development Corp [PH]

Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corp., on its commitment to be within every customer's reach, together with one of its authorized dealers Carworld Inc. (CWI) recently signed a 50-year Lease Term Agreement with the Subic Bay Development Management Corp. (SBDMC). CWI Chairman of the Board, Mr. Liberato P. Laus and Mr. Jef Lin, President of SBDMC signed the lease contract of the property located along Rizal and Argonaut Highways, the future site of a full Mitsubishi Motors dealership. Carworld Subic once completed, will provide a modern showroom and service facility convenient to Bataan and Zambales residents.

Mitsubishi Motors Corporation Announces Shipment of i-MiEV Electric Vehicle to Australia
Tokyo, June 2, 2010 - Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) announced today the shipment of its i-MiEV new-generation electric vehicle (EV) to Australia starting from July.

MMC, along with its Australian distributor Mitsubishi Motors Australia Limited (MMAL), has been conducting EV promotional activities aimed at electric power companies and other entities since February of this year with 2 i-MiEVs.

Forty i-MiEVs will be shipped starting from July. With high environmental awareness and the i-MiEV garnering praise in Australia, plans are to sell the i-MiEVs via lease to customers from July.

The i-MiEV was first sold in Japan in July of 2009 mainly to corporations and municipalities, and in April of this year sales to individuals was commenced. In addition to high environmental performance and handling inherent to a car with a compact body, the i-MiEV has been lauded for its motive power, stability, quietness and its comfortable ride.

The sale of the i-MiEV in Australia marks the 2nd market outside of Japan that the i-MiEV will be sold, after Hong Kong, which began sales in May of this year.
