MANILA, Philippines - Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corp. (MMPC) recorded outstanding sales of 3,117 units sold making it the number 1 automotive manufacturer last month, attaining 28.6% market share. MMPC’s May 2011 sales accounts for a double digit growth of 15.3% compared to the same month last year, while year to date figures registered an increase of 9.1% with 14,062 units sold compared to 12,891 units sold same period last year.

Combined reports from the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines (CAMPI) and Truck Manufacturers Association (TMA) showed that MMPC was also able to dominate the Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) segment registering a 39% market share.

YOKOHAMA/TOKYO (June 20, 2011) - NMKV Co., Ltd, a new joint venture formed by Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. and Mitsubishi Motors Corporation to develop minicars for the Japanese market, today announced an overview of its future business plans.

The new joint venture was established and commenced operations on June 1, 2011, with 35 employees. NMKV Co., Ltd is based in Takanawa, Minato Ward, Tokyo.

The new company will integrate the product planning and engineering of future minicars for Nissan and Mitsubishi in the Japanese market by harnessing the product planning know-how possessed by each company. It was formed to unite the strengths of Nissan and Mitsubishi in the areas of vehicle engineering, development and parts sourcing, as part of an overall strategy to bring new minicar products to market.

More than a third of new car sales in the Japanese market come from the minicar segment as the demand for smaller cars and eco-cars remains strong. This new joint venture for minicar development will enable Nissan to continue development of products that reflect Nissan's DNA at the design and product planning phases. The JV will benefit Mitsubishi by supplying highly-competitive products to its product line-up and by offering increased economies of scale advantages through Nissan's purchasing capacity.

The establishment of the NMKV Co., Ltd is part of the project to expand the scope of business collaboration that the two companies agreed to in December 2010.

With their strong off-road driving credentials and carrying capacity, the L200’s will allow South Tipperary Fire Services to move rescuers and their equipment quickly and easily to scene of any incident. The four vehicles, which were delivered by Colville Hunt, Main Mitsubishi Dealer in Clonmel, will go straight into frontline service.

Toronto, ON. (June 7, 2011) – Mitsubishi Motor Sales of Canada Inc. (MMSCAN) today announced competitive pricing for their all new zero-emission electric car, the 2012 Mitsubishi i-MiEV (Mitsubishi Innovative Electric Vehicle). The Mitsubishi i-MiEV is a five-door, 4-passenger, subcompact hatchback that has been designed and packaged to be efficient, ecological and fun to drive. It will be the most affordable, mass-produced, all-electric vehicle in the Canadian marketplace, and with a targeted range of 135 kilometers, and a top speed of 130 km/h, i-MiEV will make an excellent commuter vehicle for many Canadians living in urban areas.

The fully equipped i-MiEV will be available in two trim levels. The standard i-MiEV will have a Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $32,998.00 and the top of the line i-MiEV with the Premium Package will have a Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $35,998.00.

The provinces of Ontario and Quebec have already announced subsidies towards the purchase of electric vehicles (a credit of $8,230.00 in Ontario and $7,769.00 in Quebec). Montréal, June 6, 2011 – Hydro-Québec is pleased to announce that 15 Mitsubishi i MiEVs were delivered this morning to the Boucherville businesses selected for the second phase of the largest electric vehicle trial in Canada.

“We are delighted with the response we’ve received from Boucherville businesses. This second phase brings us to the very heart of the project, focusing on the needs of businesses and their employees who work in Boucherville,” noted Thierry Vandal, President and Chief Executive Officer of Hydro-Québec.

Coordinated by Hydro-Québec, the road trials are designed to study users' charging habits, driving experience and overall satisfaction as well as vehicle behavior when interfaced with the electric grid.
